The Golden Eggs

Long time ago in a remote village, in central china, was inhabited mainly with farmers and hunters.

                One day, a poor farmer lost his entire livestock  to flood. He prayer hard to god, for help or his family would die of starvation.

                Few days later, an old man with long grey beard, passed by his house and took pity on him. He gave him a goose and said,” I don’t have any expensive thing to give you and hope this goose will help you ease your hardship”

                A week later  to his greates surprise the farmer  found  an egg in his yard. This was not ordinary egg. It was a golden egg. He was enjoyed to this miracle.

                Thereafter, the livelihood had rapidly improved but the farmer had forgotten his earlier hardship. He became lazy, arrogant and spendthrift.

                Strangely, the goose only laid one golden egg every six months. The greedy farmer lost his patience and slaugrtered his goose thinking there were plenty of golden eggs inside its stomach.

                Though he very much regretted for his foolishness but it’s already  too late. Finally, the greedy farmer went back to hiss poor life

Telur emas

Pada zaman dahulu di sebuah desa remote, di pusat china tinggalah penduduk dengan pekerjaan sebgai petani dan pemburu.

Suatu hari, seorang petani miskin kehilangan stok makananya karena banjir. Dia berdoa keras pada tuhan, untuk membantunya atau keluarganya akan mati karena kelapaan.

Beberapa hari kemudian, seorang laki-laki tua dengan  jenggot  abu- abu yang panjang ,  melewati rumahya dan mengasihinya. Dia memberikan seekor angsa dan berkata, “ saya tidak punya sesuatu yang mahal untuk diberikan kepada kamu dan berharap angsa ini akan membantu memudahkan kesulitanmu”

                Seminggu kemudian  dia  dikejutkan   sebuah telur yang ditemukan oleh  petani di pekaranganya. Itu bukan telur  biasa. Itu telur emas. Dia menikmati keajaiban itu.

                Setelah itu  mata pencaharianya berubah dengan cepat tetapi petani itu lupa dengan kesengsaranya yang dulu. Dia menjadi malas, angkuh, dan pemboros.

                Anehnya, angsa hanya meletakkan satu telur emas  setiap enam bulan sekali. Petani yang tamak kehilangan kesabaranya dan  memotong angsanya  yang dia fikir ada banyak telur emas di dalam lambungnya.

Meskipun begitu dia sangat menyesal  karena kebodohanya yang sudah terlambat. Akhirnya, petani tamak kembali pada kehidupanya yang miskin.
